Artist Statement

The Color Silver

Silver is a rather attractive precious metal. Even just the color catches our eye. When our eye catches on something shiny said object tends to attract our attention. I was thinking of this as I was walking around the city and the campus area and I began to notice all of the objects that were the color silver. The next step taken was figuring out how to isolate the silver object in its own space, in its own unique frame and perspective with few other distractions. After examining the silver object from one perspective I maneuvered around the object, or in some cases even moved the object, to see multiple perspectives in order to determine the best angle in which to take the photo. This series displays the varying use of the color silver on multiple subjects from jewelry to outdoor and indoor structures.
